On the night of October 4th, 2020, a wild spring storm swept through Lake Ōhau, igniting a fire that consumed fifty homes — ours among them. Fueled by wind and wilding pines, the blaze left behind a scorched silence. In the wake of such loss, I was drawn inward, into a quiet reckoning with grief and renewal. Eventually, that journey led me back to the studio, where from the ashes, NightFlight emerged.
